BIOGRAPHY
Theodoros II was born in Heraclion, Crete in 1954. He is a graduate of the Theological Faculty of the University of Thessaloniki. He was ordained as a deacon in1975 and as a priest in 1978. He served as Archdeacon and Chancellor of the Holy Archdiocese of Lambis and Sfakion. From 1985. He was appointed as Exarch of the Patriarchate of Alexandria in Odessa. In 1990, he was elected Bishop of Kyrene and appointed Patriarchal Representative in Athens until March 1997. He then began his tenure as Patriarchal Vicar of Alexandria. On 23rd September 1997, he was elected Metropolitan of Cameroon and in October 2002 as Metropolitan of Zimbabwe.
He established the foundation of the Greek Cultural Centre and the museum where hundreds of children are learning the Greek language in Odessa.
He accompanied Patriarch Parthenios throughout his Pastoral visits in Africa, and participated in many International Theological Conferences. As a Metropolitan of Cameroon and Zimbabwe, he was able to exercise very important Missionary activities. He built churches, schools and hospitals, and was assisting many with their education.
When serving as Metropolitan of Zimbabwe he was able to build 4 missionary centres in Harare, a Greek Cultural Centre, 2 missionary centres in Malawi with a hospital as well as technical schools and nursery schools. At the same time, he founded Greek communities in Botswana and Angola.
On the 9th October 2004, he was elected unanimously by the Holy Synod as Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and all Africa. He was enthroned on the 24th October 2004 as Patriarch of Alexandria and all Africa in the church of the Annunciation of the Mother of God in Alexandria.
BIOGRAPHY
His Grace Bishop Panaretos Kykkotis (Samuel Kimani) was born in 1985 in Gikuni Kabete constituency, Kiambu county Kenya. After completion of his primary and high school education, he joined Patriarchal seminary “Archbishop Makarios III of Cyprus” in 2005 and graduated in 2008 with diploma in theology.
Due to his passion of monastic life, he went to Cyprus at the Holy monastery of Machairas in 2009, where he was ordained a deacon by H.E. Metropolitan Makarios on 1st May 2010. On 2nd January 2011, He was ordained a priest in the church of St Demetrius at Metropolis of Konstantias and Ammochostos by H.E. Makarios Metropolitan of Nairobi. He was tonsured a monk in holy monastery of Kykkos on 9th September 2011. Upon his invitation by the Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria to patriarchate, he was elevated to the rank of Archimandrite in the monastery of St Savvas the sanctified by H.B. Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and all Africa, Theodoros II on 9th September 2015.
Bishop Panaretos graduated in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree (BA) Psychology from European university Cyprus. Later in 2019 he received his master’s degree (MA) in theology from university of Nicosia Cyprus. Under the scholarship of Kykkos Monastery, he studied master’s in business administration (MBA) at the European university Cyprus. Bishop Panaretos is a PHD candidate in department of theology at the university of Nicosia with the title: “The New Testament of love according to the Gospel of St John (Jn13:34), The Healing and transformation of the world and humanity.
Bishop Panaretos served at the Cathedral of Metropolis of Kykkos and Tyllirias, Sts Contantinos and Hellen in Kato Pyrgos Cyprus. He later served at the church of St George Mosfili in the same metropolis. He has been serving at the church of St Prokopios in Metochi of Kykkos monastery until his election as the bishop of Nyeri and mt Kenya diocese by Holy synod of patriarchate of Alexandria on 24th November 2022. He was enthroned as the Bishop of Nyeri and Mt. Kenya Diocese at the Historical church of St. Luke Orthodox Church in Nyeri on 19th February 2023 by H.B Theodoros II-Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa.
Apart from his native language Kikuyu, he speaks Kiswahili, English, and Greek.

Rev. Fr. Cyprian is an ordained clergy in the Holy Diocese of Nyeri and Mt. Kenya, serving as the Vicar General. He was appointed to this role on 21/7/2023 by His Grace Bishop Panaretos. He is currently serving at the church of St. Moses and Nectarios Gatitu Nyeri Deanery.
